I am a descendant of the Chezem family who lived in Cumberland, Clinton and Jasper counties in the late 1800. My gr. grandfather was Marion Alexander Chezem b. July, 1848 and married a Jane Talbott b. 1844- 1851. They had 5 sons and 1 daughter
Per the 1900 census in Irishtown Twp Clinton County:
James Alexander b. Oct. 1870
Squire George b. Nov.,1875
General Frank b. May,1878, my grandfather
Oscar C. b. May, 1886
E. Roscoe b. June, 1892 per the
Ivy was the daughter and I have no information on her.
We do have the Chezem Genealogy book, but it has no data on Jane Talbott. I have searched to no avail for information on all three county's sites and the Illinois archives for marriage license or death certificate information on her. Do you have anything available to you that I cannot see? Thank you so much for any assistance you might be able to provide.
Sincerely,
Diana Battersby

I previously uploaded this photo to your website but it is too large for this message. Through a Google search I found your site and the New Memphis Station School. My photo show a Memphis Station School dated 1923.
This photo is in my family collection but I can\'t identify my family connection and I don\'t know if there is a connection to Clinton County, Illinois.
My family mostly migrated from eastern Kentucky to Florida.
Any help would be appreciated.

GREAT website--Does anyone have a picture or memory of a grocery or mercantile store in Aviston on the north side of Third St between Page and Spring. The store was owned by my GG-Grandfather, Henry Marks prior to his death in 1893. Later the store was operated by my G-Grandfather, Anton Eilermann until about 1895 when it was sold to Henry Kortkamp. The building was probably torn down in the 1950's. I would very much like to hear from you

An "Anonymous" message was left for us with questions about Henry Edward Kohrmann stating he never married and was born September 26, 1881.
Nancy Moss has rechecked the images of the church records for both the baptism and the marriage and found the information we report on http://clintonilgenweb.net/churches/stcecilia/baptism_k-u.php to be correct. We show a KOHRMANN, Henry Edward, born 7 Jul 1891, baptized 8 Jul 1891, and Married Emma HOLLENKAMP, 15 Feb 1916.
It is possible there are two different people named Henry Edward Kohrmann. If you wish further information, please contact us.

I love the site, it has been very helpful. I am looking for more information on Fredis (Freedis) Maddux, I know he is buried in the Clark Cemetary (East Fork). He and two others, James and Oliver (Possibly brothers and possibly with a father named Fredis), moved from GA. I need help finding what county in GA they came from. The British burned most records in GA during the war of 1812, so information here is hard to come by.
