County history books during this time frame included Patrons' names in the history book. The fees that the Patrons paid to list their names were used to offset the cost of printing the books. The title says Partial List, perhaps the publisher was allowing for the event that someone was left out. All of the published names are included here. The less wealthy and the dubious didn't list their names.

Following are the Clinton County names that are listed as Patrons in the 1881 Marion and Clinton Counties, Illinois History Book. The women are alphabetized by their maiden name, when given. Another sort is available to show the married names listed in the fourth column to match a wife to a husband. As always, check for alternate spellings - perhaps the typesetter couldn't read the salesman's handwriting, etc.
