Last Will and Testament of Charles M. CARR deceased.

In the name of God Amen.

I Charles M. Carr of the town of Trenton in the County of Clinton and State of Illinois considering the uncertainty of life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be the almighty God for the same, do make, declare and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say:

1st I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Ann CARR my property in the town of Trenton and described as follows:

Lots number five (5) and six (6) in block three Wm LEWIS addition to the town of Trenton, to have and to hold the same to her for and during her natural life, also the full contents of the house and at my dear wifes death the house and lots to be sold twelve (12) months after her death and the proceeds of said sale to be divided equally, share and share alike between my heirs. namely: Joseph L. CARR, Andrew M. CARR, George E. CARR, Mary A. GREER, Charles N. CARR heirs and William T. CARR, and out of Charles N. Carr's heirs share in my property the different amounts paid for him by me to be deducted out of their share.

2nd As to the remainder or residue of my real estate of which I shall die seized and possessed I hereby give my executors my dear wife Mrs. Mary Ann Carr and my son William T. Carr the power and authority to sell it as soon as practicable, and according to the best of their judgement, and also for the best interest of my estate. I hereby give my dear wife, Mary A. Carr my gold watch.

3rd I hereby give & bequeath to my said wife Mary A. Carr the just sum of three thousand ($3000.00) dollars for her support her lifetime, and at my wifes death the remainder of said three thousand (3000) dollars, to be divided in equal shares between my children or their heirs respectively.

and 4th I hereby do nominate and appoint my dear wife and my son William T. Carr to be the executors of this my last will and testament ordering the Court of Probate or any other Court having jurisdiction in such case to not require my executors to give bond.

In testimony whereof I have to this my last will and testament subscribed my name in the presence of the witnesses name below, this fifteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eighty five (1885).

Signed, sealed, declared and published by the said Charles M. Carr as and for his last will and testament in presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

Personally Appeared in open Court Alfred Guyot and M. Ginzel subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Chas. M. Carr late of Clinton County deceased who, being duly sworn according to law, do depose and say, each for himself that they subscribed their names to the foregoing instrument as the attesting witnesses at the request of said Charles M. Carr Testator and in his presence and, in presence of each other on the 15th day of July A.D. 1885. That the said Charles M. Carr then and there subscribed his name thereto in their presence and declared the same to be his last Will and Testament; and that the said Testator at the time of executing the same as aforesaid was of full age, of sound mind and memory, and under no constraint.
