In the Name of God. Amen.

I John G. WELLEN of the town of Looking Glass in the County of Clinton and State of Illinois of the age of Sixty Seven years, and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament, in the manner following, that is to say:

First I give and devise to my wife Mary WELLEN One Hundred (100) acres land of the west end of section twenty two (22) described as follows viz – W2 of SW of section 22 twenty two which is 80 acres and W2 E2 of SE4 section 22 same are 20 acres and makes in all One hundred acres (100) all in Town of Looking Glass Clinton County Illinois. To my daughter Anna WELLEN the following One Hundred and ten (110) acres of the East part of my land of SW of SW of SW of sec. Twenty three (23) being ten acres and W pt of W ½ of SW of section 23 being forty (40) acres and NE 4 of NE 4 of section (22) being twenty acres (20 acres) and NE of SE 4 of section (22) being forty acres and same land is in all a farm of One hundred and ten acres all in the Town of Looking glass County of Clinton and State of Illinois.

Second: That my daughter Anna Wellen shall have and be owner of aforesaid land, as soon as she is eighteen (18) years old, and that my wife Mary Wellen shall draw all rent that may come from my daughters land till she is 18 years old.

Third: I appoint my wife Mary Wellen as Guardian of my daughter Anna wotwithstanding that she treats her well and takes good care of her.

Fourth: I give and devise all the rest, residue and remainder of my real Estate of every name and nature whatever to my wife Mary Wellen.

Fifth: I devise for masses for me and burying the sum of twenty five Dollars, and for my tombstone I also devise the sum of twenty five Dollars.

And lastly: I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate, after all my first debts are paid, goods and chattels of what nature or kind soever to my wife Mary Wellen, whom I appoint sole executrix of this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof, signed sealed published and declared by the said John G. Wellen the testator herein, as for his last Will and Testament, in presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

Personally appeared in open court Anton Wiehoff and Clemens HEWSNER ? subscribing witnesses to the annexed instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of John G. Wellen late of said County deceased, who being duly sworn according to law, do depose and say, each for himself, that he was present and saw the said John G. Wellen sign said Will in their presence and that they believe that the said testator was of sound mind and memory, of lawful age, and under no constraint when he signed said Will.
