Last Will and Testament of John Herm. SANTEL
In the name of God. Amen.
I John Hermann Santel near Damiensville in the Town of Lookingglass, in the County of Clinton and State of Illinois, of the age of sixty eight years (nearly) and being of sound mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament, in the manner following, that is to say:
First I give and bequeath to my son John Santel all my personal property of whatsoever kind or nature it may be, to be accepted and received by him, after my death and after the death of my wife, Maria Adelheid Santel, and not to be his properly before our decease, or as long as any one of us is alive.
And lastly, I appoint my son John Santel my sole Executer of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made, and do not require my son John Santel to give bond as my Executer.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto let my hand and seal this, 28th day of February Ad 1883.

The foregoing instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof signed, sealed, published, and declared by the said John Herman Santel as and for his last will and testament, in presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

Personally appeared in open court Balthaser Weber and (county clerk left underlined space) subscribing witness to the annexed instrument of writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of John Herman Santel late of said County, deceased, who, being duly sworn according to law, does depose and say, each for himself, that he was present and swathe said John Herman Santel sign said will in his presence, and that he believes that the said Testator was of sound mind and memory, of lawful age, and under no constraint when he signed said will.

Clinton County} In county court of said county in probate, December Term 1891 and on the 28th day of December Ad 1891.
In the matter of the last Will and Testament of John Herman Santel deceased personally appeared in open court John Santel competent and credible witness, who being duly sworn according to law does depose and say the Joseph Winter one of the subscribing witnesses to the last will and Testament of John herman Santel departed this life on or about the 25 day of January 1889 as is shown by affidavit of decease on file in ___ Estate and that he was present and witnessed him sign his name as witness to the aforesaid will. Subscribed and sworn to in open court, this 28th day of December Ad 1891.
