Bernard Heinrich Anton Diestel and Theresia Maue were my Great Great Grandparents. I have pictures of most of the family from their son Herman Diestel on down.  If anyone is looking for further family history they can contact me at my email address.  I am still trying to piece together Bernard's sister's and brother's  and have retrieved some info from Germany.  I would like to know if Bernard was buried in Clinton County or if he could possibly be the Bernhardt Diestel buried at West Point Cemetery in NY.  I am trying to locate his burial place or the burial place of Theresia Maue.  I would like to point out that most of the info on your site has the last name misspelled. I saw Diesen, Dietzel. and several variations.

Date: 15 Apr 2003

Looking for Martin KEHRER and Cecelia DUNNEWALD. Martin was born in St. Clair County April 27, 1861 and died in July of 1925, probably in Clinton County. Cecelia died in 1898. Martin then married Mary Breuggam (1882-12/17/1963). Supposedly, Martin had 6 children with Cecelia and 10 with Mary. My wife's grandmother (Josephine Kehrer) was born in Clinton County and was one of the first 6; we know nothing of the other 15 siblings. Josephine married Ruby Furman KERN in (probably) 1917. We have obtained Martin's lineage, but have no information on Cecelia. Any information on these people would be very much appreciated.

There is a marriage record in LDS Marriages which lists a Henry Parker to a "Mrs. Henry" Parker. Can anyone tell me where I can find this complete marriage record? I believe this Henry Parker is my own ggggrandfather who was born in 1780 N.C. and lived in Clinton co. in 1830. He was related to Elder John Parker and wondered if churches records would have this for LDS to post to their records. Thank you.

Submitter: Tim Nutt (tgnutt@swbell.net)
Date: 23 Jan 2003

My ancestors, Henry & Maria Schulte Strott (Stoot, Stroth) lived in Clinton County in the 1860s until 1880. At that time, the family (Henry, wife Maria, daughters Katherine, Anna, Margaret, Carolina, and Bernhard Schulte) moved to Perry County, Arkansas. It was not just this family that moved, a whole group of families from Clinton and surrounding counties moved to this area in Arkansas. Some of the other families who moved were Wellinghoff and Lipsmeyer. I can find no record of when the Strotts came to Illinois and their is some debate as to where their first child Katharine was born (either in Germany or Illinois). Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any newspapers from around that time. Can anyone help? Thanks. Tim
