Much of what follows is speculation on my part, but it seems to fit info I have. The Illinois Mariage Index lists the marriage of Richard French and Elizabeth Criswell Jan 3, 1833. Elizabeth French married W.C. White Jan 17, 1848. Elizabeth White married Hiram K. Farris July 22, 1849. All marriages were in Clinton County. The 1850 Clay County Census shows Hiram and Elizabeth and two daughters, Sarah French and Mary French. Sarah birthdate is about 1842 and Mary's is Nov 1, 1845. I believe the Elizabeth in these three marriages is the same person. I am primarily interested in the French surname because my wife is descended from Thomas Farris, a son of Hiram, who married his step-sister, Mary French. My secondary interest is Criswell, Elizabeth' maiden name.

Is there any history for Hanover? I have an ancestor (Armarillo ROBINSON) born in Dec 1825
