John RIPPLINGER and his wife Margaret nee SHOFIN (SCHOWINGER), Lived on a farm in Looking Glass Township in the 1870's.Their oldest daughter, Mary RIPPLINGER married Xavier GRIESBAUM, and they also lived and farmed in Looking Glass Township.Michael RIPPLINGER married Theresa KIEFER and they moverd to the Mount Vernon, Illinois area. Elizabeth RIPPLINGER was married to Louis HERTENSTEIN and they lived in the Mount Vernon area.Philip RIPPLINGER married Margaret KIEFER and they lived in the E. St. Louis, Illinios area.Margaret RIPPLINGER was married two times. 1st to George WANGER, who died and then to, (her 2nd) Henry GILDIG, they resided in Trenton, Illinois.Nicholas RIPPLINGER was married two times also. 1st wife was Emma JAMES. 2nd wide was Otillia MUELLER, they lived and farmed in Dahlgren, Illinois.

Joannes Gerardus Lager was born 18 NOV 1796 nearGersten and died 12 JAN 1850 near Germantown,Clinton, IL. He married Anna Maria Wobben ( 20 SEP1802 - 06 JAN 1864) on 29 AUG 1822 in Lengerichat St. Benedickts. Anna was the daughter of JoesBernard Wobben and Anna Gesina Sabelhaus. Joanneswas a farmer in the Gersten area and later migratedto the United States. He settled in Looking GlassTownship in Clinton Co., IL. Joannes and Annaraised a large family that included Johann Benedikt(b. 1822), Johann Bernhard (b. 1824), Leo Augustus(b. 1827), Maria Anna (b. 1829), Herman Gerhard(b. 1833), Johann Heinrich (b. 1836) and JosephBernard (b. 1838). When Joannes died he was buriedin an unmarked grave near the cross located directlyin front of St. Boniface Church in Germantown. Anyhelp on the descendants of this family would be greatly appreciated.

John Bethards came to Clinton Co from Kent Co, DE @ about age 5 in 1830. His father died after that, maybe 1833, after son, william was born. His name may have been George. John @ about age 14 was bound to James Carrigan. Am trying to locate a grave for this Bethards. William was living with Sidney Breese/Breeze family in 1850 census. Did his mother remarry?
