I am looking for any information on Spaeth/Spath's families in the East
St. Louis & Clinton Co, IL area. My great grandfather, Joseph
Spaeth, is believed to be buried in this area. My Joseph Spaeth came to
the US from Germany. Word of mouth says he was in Pickaway County, OH
and then went to Natchez, MS where he fought in the Civil War. From MS
he went to So. IN (Harrison County). In the early 1900's, family
members in IN heard he had died and was buried in the St. Lewis area.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
