John Huelsmann Dies Tuesday in Breese Hospital

John H. Huelsmann, a retired farmer, died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Breese at noon Tuesday at the age of 87 years,. He suffered a broken hip August 4th, and was in the hospital since.

He was born near St. Rose November 24, 1878, a son of Theo and Ann (Richter) Huelsmann.

He was married to Miss Mary Poettker May 21, 1901, and they were engaged in farming near St. Rose until their retirement twenty-one years ago, when they moved to Breese. Mrs. Huelsmann died in 1953. He continued to live in their Breese home with his daughter, Dorothy, Mrs. Leroy Masching and family.

Besides Dorothy, he leaves another daughter Bertha, of Carlyle, widow of the late Frank Rakers, and seven sons: Frank of north of Breese, Theodore and Cyril of northwest of Breese, Ferd and Larry of St. Rose, Otto of Aviston and Ed, east of Trenton.

He leaves 53 grandchildren and 100 great grandchildren.

Mr. Huelsmann was a member of St. Dominic's Church, St. Joseph's Sodality and Breese Council of the Knights of Columbus. He had been a charter member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau, a former director of the Aviston School Board and served a number of years as director of the Breese Grain Co.

The body is in state at the Moss Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 am. Saturday in St. Dominic's Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Grandchildren of Mr. Huelsmann will serve as pallbearers.
