Herman E. Deiters, 51

The funeral of Herman E. Deiters of Beckemeyer will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at St. Anthony's Church in Beckemeyer, Rev. Edwin Hustedde will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Deiters died Sunday, August 9th, near Ozark, Mo., in an automobile accident. He was 51 years old.

A son of Herman and Catherine Brueggemann Deiters Sr., he was born in Breese on July 2, 1936. He married Mary Elizabeth Holthaus in Beckemeyer on Nov. 27, 1958, and she survives.

Besides his widow, survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Cathy Wolfe of Beckemeyer, Mrs. Mary Lynn Johnson of Galva, Mrs. Rita Duncan of Carlyle and Ms. Julie Deiters at home; four sons, Thomas "Tom" Deiters of Breese, Larry Deiters of Davenport, Iowa; Jim Deiters of Mundelein and Gary Deiters of Chicago; six grandchildren; four brothers, Victor Deiters of Beckemeyer, Raymond Deiters of St. Rose, Vincent Deiters of Pocahontas and Edward Deiters of Carlyle; and five sisters, Mrs. Regina Steinmann, Mrs. Agnes Hilmes and Catherine Schrage, all of Breese, Mrs. Dorothy Wilken of Bartelso and Mrs. Marie Buehler of Carlyle.

Mr. Deiters was employed by General Motors Truck and Bus group as a relief operator. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 25 and St. Anthony's Church.

Visitation will be at the Moss Funeral in Breese after 3:00 p.m. today (Wednesday). The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday evening.
