5-YR.-OLD BOY KILLED IN FALL FROM WAGON
Andrew, the 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Taphorn, who live on a farm near Beckemeyer, was fatally injured Saturday morning, when a fall from a wagon caused him to sustain a broken neck.
The boy was riding in a wagon with his father, driving south on the Bartelso road, Mr. Taphorn turned the team into a field, crossing a ditch. The jar caused in going through the ditch caused Mr. Taphorn to fall forward on to the tongue. He freed himself but the team ran away carrying the boy alone in the wagon. The rapidly moving wagon bounced over the field, and suddenly the boy was thrown out, and as a result his neck was broken. He lived only a short time after.
The coroner, Dr. Morony, held an inquest the same day, and the verdict was accidental death.
The boy leaves his parents, two brothers and one sister.
The funeral services were held in St. Anthony’s Church, Beckemeyer, Monday morning.
