James E., youngest son of Judge Jesse Jones and Nance Jones, died on Wednesday morning of last week, and the funeral took place from the Presbyterian church on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was scarcely twenty-two years of age and was a victim of that dreaded disease, consumption. "In Memoriam" James E. Jones was born August 5, 1867, in Santa Fe township, Clinton county, died May 8, 1889, aged 21 years eight months and 26 days. His remains were interred in the Carlyle cemetery.
