Wilton – Eva Cox was born at Greendale, Ill., Sept. 15, 1868. She embraced Christ as her Savior when about 15 years old at Bethel, Ill., and united in membership with the M. E. church in the fellowship of which she lived true and faithful until transplanted from the church militant to the church triumphant.

She joined hand and heart with Isaac Wilton the bonds of holy wedlock April 18, 1888. This union was blessed with three daughters, who now range in age 1, 5, and 8 respectively. She has been afflicted from about the age of 12, and for the last 20 months it was plainly evident that she was afflicted with consumption which time she suffered constantly and for the last 17 weeks was confined to the bed. She was preceded to the spirit world by five sisters. The mother, three sisters and four brothers remain with the bereaved husband and little daughters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

She fell asleep in Jesus Feb 22, 1898, aged 29 years, 5 months and 7 days. Interment at Matsler cemetery.
