WELL KNOWN CLINTON COUNTY FARMER DIES IN ST. LOUIS SATURDAY

Rufus Hull of near Aviston Dies at Deaconess Home – Services at St. John’s Church Here

Rufus Hull, aged 48 years, 2 months and 1 day, died at the Deaconess Home, on West Belle, Place in St. Louis last Saturday morning at 11:25. He had been sick for nearly a year. He seemed to be unable to find any relief for his suffering here and west to St. Louis to the hospital about three months ago returning to Breese during the Clinton County Fair and was apparently on his road to recovery, as he seemed to be improving greatly.

About a month ago he went back to the hospital and last week was told that he had no chance for recovery and that the end would come soon. Mr. Hull then expressed his desire to return home in order to be with his family. His wife and son went to St. Louis to bring him home but he passed away before he could be moved.

The body was brought to Breese where funeral services were held from St. John’s Evangelical Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock to St. John’s cemetery.

Mr. Hull was born in Clinton County on September 16, 1875. He worked in this vicinity until December, 1896 when he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Rebling and moved to St. Louis, Mo. After staying in this city two years they retuned and made their home on farms north of Aviston and Breese. In 1910 the family moved to what is known as the old Rebling place, southeast of Aviston and have since made their home there.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Elizabeth and Esther, and a son Albert, his aged mother two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
