Nancy G. Frerker, 8, dies in tractor accident at home

A farm tragedy took the life of Nancy G. Frerker, 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Frerker, late Saturday afternoon at the farm home a half mile south of Route 50 and half way between Breese and Aviston. She was riding on the scoop of manure spreader pushed by a tractor driven by a brother and when the tractor hit a bump, she fell off, under a tractor wheel. Nancy suffered fatal injuries. The accident occurred at four o'clock and she was pronounced dead 15 minutes later at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ben Moss.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at St. Dominic's Church, the Mass by Fr. John Fellner, and there were six little girls as pall bearers, three of them neighbors, the other three cousins of the victim.

Nancy was a fourth grade student at St. Dominic's School. She was born at Breese October 22, 1963, and would have been nine years old later this month. She is a daughter of Leo and Bernice Richter Frerker.

Surviving are one sister, Shirley; five brothers, Richard, Kenneth, David, Jeffrey and Glen all at home; the parents and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Richter of St. Rose and Leo Frerker Sr. of Germantown.

The death was the second by accident in the Richter family within a month. Mrs. Mary Richter of Aviston was fatally injured in a traffic accident on Route 50 between Trenton and Aviston September 21.

Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
