BECKEMEYER MAN'S MOTHER IS DEAD

Mrs. Mary Feldmann, 76, Succumbed to Blood Poisoning in St. Louis

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Feldmann, 76, mother of John Feldmann of Beckemeyer, were held from the St. Augustine's church in Breese Tuesday morning of last week. Interment was made in the St. Dominic's cemetery in Breese. The body had lain in state after death until the morning of the funeral at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Mrs. Feldmann passed away at the home of her other son, Herman Feldmann, in St. Louis, the Friday before. She was a victim of blood poisoning, having been confined to her bed but the three days before her death. She had been troubled with leg affection for several years.

Acting as pallbearers at the rites were John Huelsmann, Benedict Huelsmann, William Alberternst and Leo, Emil and Caspar Richter.

Mrs. Feldmann was twice married. Her first husband was George Feldmann of Aviston, the father of her children. To them five children were born, Bernard and Theresa, who died in infancy, and Henry Feldmann having preceded the mother in death. Mr. Feldmann died a number of years ago.

Her second husband was Ben Hodkiss, who died several years ago. Their union did not result in any children and was terminated when Hodgkiss left her. The courts restored the name of Feldmann to the wife.

Besides the two sons, the deceased leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna Huelsmann of St. Rose and Mrs. Catherine Middeke of St. Rose.

The Carlyle Union Banner joins in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved.
