Catherine Ratermann, 79, Passes Away Saturday

Mrs. Catherine Ratermann, 79, died suddenly at her home north of Breese Saturday at noon. She was a lifelong resident of rural Breese.

She was born February 15, 1895, in Breese, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Kreke) Feltrop. She was educated at St. Dominic School and on October 20, 1919, was married in St. Dominic Church to Henry Ratermann, who preceded her in death on January 19, 1961.

Survivors include six sons; Sylvester, Ralph, Richard, Melvin, and Henry Jr. all of Breese, and three daughters Mrs. Alvina Voss of Breese, Mrs. Florentine Ripperda of Trenton, and Mrs. Olivia Landmann of Highland. A daughter, Mrs. Agnes Detmer, and a son, Alfred, preceded her in death. She had 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors are two brothers Rev. Vic Feltrop O. P. Dominican of New Orleans, La. and Ed Feltrop of Breese, and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Zurliene of Trenton.

She was a member of St. Dominic Altar Sodality.

Funeral services were Tuesday at 1 p.m.at St. Dominic Church with Rev. Vic Feltrop and Rev. Paul Harbaugh officiating. Interment was at St. Dominic Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Roger and Kenny Voss, John and Leonard Ratermann, Alan Detmer, and Wayne Landmann.

Moss Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
