Anna Woltering Dies At Age 79

Anna Woltering of Breese died of a stroke at her home in Breese Sunday, June 29, at the age of 79 years. Mrs. Woltering had been in apparent good health until her death.

She was born in Breese Township Nov. 4, 1895, the daughter of August and Elizabeth (Lampe) Wessel. On April 30, 1919, in St. Rose Church, she married Bernard Woltering, who preceded her in death in August 1960.

Survivors include four sons, Alfred, Chas. And Daniel, all of Breese, and Norbert of Florissant, Mo., and five daughters, Mrs. Laura Schuette, of St. Rose; Mrs. Joan Neff of Germantown, Sister Mary Myles of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Julie Becker and Mrs. Veronica Timmermann, both of Breese. She had 32 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Mary Foppe of Carlyle, also survives.

Mrs. Woltering was a member of the Precious Blood Circle 708 Daughters of Isabella and St. Dominic Altar Sodality.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 1 at 11 a.m. in St. Dominic Church with Rev. John Fellner officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers.
