Mrs. Anna M. Otke Died at age of 75 Yrs.

The death of Mrs. Anna M. Otke, wife of the late Casimer Otke, who resided on her farm a half mile northeast of Breese, occurred there Saturday night, at ten o'clock, at the age of 75 years. She had been ill since June 27th, a complication of ailments, causing her poor health. She was patient in the local hospital for two weeks, but for the last four weeks had been home.

Deceased was born northwest of this city, August 20,1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Richter. She obtained her education in St. Dominic's School in this city, and on May 3, 1893, was united in marriage to Casimer Otke, in St. Dominic's church, Rev. Reinecke. They spent their entire married lives on the present Otke home place. Three children were born to them, namely, Henry, who died March 9, 1938, and John and Alvin at home.

Mrs. Otke leaves the two sons, a step daughter, Miss Rose Otke, of St. Louis, and four brothers, Henry G. Richter, Herman B. Richter, John Richter and Wm. Richter, Jr.., all of Breese. Her husband died February 9, 1936.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in St. Dominic's church, having begun at nine a.m. with requiem mass, Rev. Hy. Aydt the pastor, officiating. Pallbearers were: Ben M. Ratermann, Ray Schroeder, Henry Niemeyer, Herman Deiters, Leo Jansen and Otto Kapp. The remains were laid to rest in St. Dominic Cemetery.

The subject of this sketch was a very devout woman, gave her entire life to their family, leading a truly exemplary life of devotion, sacrifice and Christianity. She was a member of St. Dominic Church her entire life where she worshipped regularly, and she also belonged to the Altar Society of that congregation.

We sympathize with the sorrowing family.
