MRS. WM. DEIEN OF BREESE, PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Pauline Deien passed away at her home in Breese, Sunday, March 21, 1948, at 2:45 p.m. She reached the age of 44 years, 8 months and 21 days. Mrs. Deien had been in failing health for the past 10 months.

Mrs. Pauline Deien (nee Thien) was born in Breese, Illinois, June 29, 1908, a daughter of Bernard and Mary Thien. She attended school at St. Dominic and St. Augustine's in this city and grew to young womanhood in Breese.

She was united in marriage to Mr. William Deien in St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Breese, May 17, 1922, by Rev. Kercher. She lived in this city her entire life. To this union three children were born namely, Mrs. Florence Beckmann, of St. Louis, Mo.; Robert, who died Aug. 14, 1941 and Elmer Deien, of Breese.

Besides the above children and her husband; she leaves one son-in-law, and 1 daughter-in-law; 1 sister, Mrs. Henry J. Deien, also three brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.

Mrs. Deien and been a faithful member of St. Augustine's congregation and attended services regularly until her health began to fail her. She was a member of the Altar Sodality of St. Augustine's Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, March 24, 1948, at 9:00 o'clock in St. Augustine's Catholic Church in this city. The Rev. Aloys Eckert, pastor, officiating. Interment was in St. Dominic Cemetery, Breese, Ill.

The pallbearers were: Anton Weh, Aloys Maue, Leo Heyer, John Scheveling, Gene Maue and Edwin Maue.
