Benedict Thien Dies at Age 90 Thursday Morning

Benedict J. Thien, 90, died at 5 a.m. last Thursday at the Friendship Manor Nusing Home in Nashville. He had resided there the past five months, and prior to that lived in the Hawley Hotel in Breese, and St. Mary's Home at Carlyle.

Mr Thien was born in Conception Mo., and lived in Breese about 50 years. He was employed in the coal mine here.

He was a son of John and Eliz (Feldmann) Thien.

His wife, the former Miss Theresia Voss died a number of years ago.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Charles Siefker and Mrs. Arthur Feltrop of Breese, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and a sister, Miss Rose Thien of Albers, and a brother of Omaha, Nebraska.

The funeral was held from the Bruegge-Heyer Funeral Home in Breese Friday afternoon, services having been conducted by Rev. F. X. Heligenstein in St. Augustine Church. Interment was in Saint Dominic's Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Glen and Norbert Feltrop, Norman Siefker, Ben Grapperhaus, Elmer Perkes and John Willi.
