Clinton J. Speiser, 72, of Shattuc died Friday, Jan. 23rd, 2004, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

He was born on Sept. 14th, 1931, in East Fork Township of Clinton County, the son of Henry and Clara Nolte Speiser, and they preceded him in death. On Oct. 28th, 1966, in Carlyle, he married Leona M. Huels, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 22nd, 1990.

Surviving are a son, Daniel Speiser of Shattuc; a daughter, Diane Speiser of Sandoval; three grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Speiser of Carlyle, Clifford Speiser of Shattuc and Leonard Speiser of Sandoval, and a sister, Ruth Brink of Junction City.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph and two infant brothers and one infant sister.

Mr. Speiser lived his entire life in Eastern Clinton County. He was involved in general agriculture and hog raising for over 50 years. He semi retired in 1995. He also worked for the Greenville Livestock Company for 20 years at the Greenville Sale Barn as a livestock handler. He was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 27th, at 11 a.m. at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval, with John Hempen officiating.

Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Centralia.
