John Robertson, 64, of Carlyle died Saturday, Jan. 31st, 2004.

He was born on August 1st, 1939, in Brownsville, Tenn., the son of Vera Allen and John Robertson, Sr., and they preceded him in death. On March 25th, 1961, in Brownsville, Tenn., he married Lou Virginia Green, and she survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Pamela and Brenda Robertson, both of Carlyle, Johnnie Crossland of Bloomington, Patricia Campbell of Nashville, Tenn., and Tina Willis of Centralia; a son Craig Robertson of Lebanon; five grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Robertson of Carlyle, Thelma Kinnes of Brownsville, Tenn., and Margret Marie Robertson of Ocala, Fla., and a brother, Herbert Robertson of Brownsville, Tenn.

Mr. Robertson and his family moved to Carlyle in 1966, where he was employed by Golder Trucking, Rakers Elevator, Inc. and Consolidated Exchange, Inc., where he retired in 2001. In retirement, he assisted with the concession stand at McKendree College football games.

He was a dedicated father, foster parent and friend to all who knew him. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, watching professional wrestling, tractor pulls, Cardinals baseball, watching football and serving the local farmers in the community through his employment.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 5th, at 11 a.m. at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Rev. Joe Hill officiating.

Interment will follow in Carlyle Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, Wed., February 4th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
