Eugene H. ‘Gene’ Kline, 76, of Trenton died Tuesday, Feb. 17th, 2004, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 10th, 1927, in Old Ripley, the son of Albert J. and Florence Kroeck Kline, and they preceded him in death. On December 9th, 1960, in Edwardsville, he married Barbara Rizer, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy McIntyre and Trudy Kline, both of Trenton; two grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Butler of New Douglas and Dorothy Watson of Hardy, Ark.; a brother, Albert Kline of Bunker Hill; two daughters, Ginger and Karey, and a son, Garth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kline.

Mr. Kline retired from the Civil Service with the U.S. Government and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Trenton VFW Post 7983, Aviston American Legion Post 1239, founding member of the Trenton Lions, and lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club and Handyman Club of America. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, cooking and playing cards.

He was also a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton, where his funeral service was celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 21st, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Thomas Perl officiating.

Interment was in Trenton Cemetery.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
