James R. Legate, Jr., 49

James R. Legate, Jr., 49, of Carlyle, and formerly of Granite City died Monday, Oct. 11th, 2004, at Willow Creek RNC in Belleville.

He was born Oct. 5th, 1955, in Granite City, the son of James R. and Dorothy Hamilton Legate, Sr.

Surviving is his father of Granite City; a daughter, Tammy; two sons, Patrick and Terry of Carlyle; two grandchildren; four sisters, Connie Stephens of Piedmont, Mo., Felicia Schemee of Troy, Mo., Liz Rakowski of Belleville and Rhonda Henry of Granite City; two brothers, Matthew Legate of Granite City and Denny Legate of Collinsville; and a stepmother, Marsha Legate.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Oct. 13th at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home in Granite City.

Burial was in St. John Cemetery.
