Alice Marie Nordike, 91

Alice Marie Nordike, 91, of Fairfield died Friday, Nov. 12th, 2004, at Way Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield.

She was born Dec. 31st, 1912, in Donnellson, the daughter of Dominick and Florence Edna Andrews Piro, and they preceded her in death. She married Gilford Clayton Nordike, and he preceded her in death in 1951.

Surviving is a son, Elvin “Dean” Nordike of Execter, Mo.; two daughters, Ruby Nordike of Fairfield and Mary Baswell of Mississippi; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Piro of Alton.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Piro; and four sisters, Tressie E. Whitford, Alvera Stracke, Myrtle Hayes and Della Piro.

She was born near Donnellson and raised in Bond County. She raised her family in the Keyesport area moving in Carlyle in 1951 and the later to Pana, Taylorville, East Alton and has made her in Fairfield the last 15 years. She was raised in the Methodist Church.

Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of the arrangements.
