Martha L. Bruegge, 82

Martha L. Bruegge, 82, of Breese died Sunday, Nov. 14th, 2004, at Manor Care Health Center in Florissant, Mo.

She was born Feb. 1st, 1922, in Breese, the daughter of Dr. Bernard J. Timmermann, DVM, and Anna M. Klutho, and they preceded her in death. On Aug. 7th, 1943, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle, she married Ferdinand Bruegge, and he preceded her in death Feb. 7th, 1997.

Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn Lester of Houston, Texas, and Anita Martinez of Florissant, Mo.; two sons, Robert Bruegge of Edwardsville and Michael Bruegge of Breese; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Timmermann.

She attended St. Mary’s Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., and graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign. She taught at Breese Public High School and Germantown Elementary. After her teaching career, she was a bookkeeper at Bruegge & Co.

She was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Altar Sodality and the American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary.

A funeral mass was held Tuesday, Nov. 16th at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church in Breese, with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating.

Burial was in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery.

Visitation was at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese.
