Alvin H. “Al” Bach, 81

Alvin H. “Al” Bach, 81, of Germantown died Thursday, Nov. 18th, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

He was born March 3rd, 1923, in Bartelso, the son of Peter and Josephine Boeckmann Bach, and the preceded him in death. On June 2nd, 1951, in Rapid City, S.D., he married Dolores “Dolly” Haar, and she survives.

Surviving are two sons, Don Bach of Damiansville and David Bach of Germantown; two daughters, Dot Eversman of Shiloh and Kathy Tutka of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Paul and Greg Bach, both of Carlyle; and two sisters, Mary Ely of Orlando, Fla., and Nellie Deitz of Bartelso.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Cyril, Henry, Emil, Leo and Louis Bach; four sisters, Hilda Roberg, Rosalie Rippiani, Marcella Huene and Linda Bach.

He was retired from Ford Motor Co. and Germantown Township Road maintenance. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a member of Germantown American Legion Post 325 for 50 years, past president and honorary member of the Germantown Kernel Nut Club, United Auto Workers Local 325 and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

He was also a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown where his funeral mass was held Monday, Nov. 22nd, at 11 a.m. with Father Stephen Humphrey officiating.

Burial followed in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

The Germantown American Legion held services Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
