Margaret McGinnis, 95

Margaret McGinnis, 95, of Breese died Tuesday, Oct. 26th, 2004, at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese.

She was born Aug. 27th, 1909, in St. Rose, the son of Gerhard and Catherine Ahlers Holtgrave, and they preceded her in death. She married Michael McGinnis on June 19th, 1954, at St. Rose Catholic Church, and he preceded her in death May 28th, 1994.

Surviving are two brothers, Cletus Holtgrave of St. Rose and Andrew Holtgrave of Iuka; and two sisters, Sister M. Gerard PHJC of Donaldson, Ind., and Trudy Arentsen of Shiloh.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Holtgrave; and four sisters, Mathilda Barranco, Alvina Matscher, Sister Gerald Holtgrave PHJC, and Sister Mary Pascal Holtgrave PHJC.

She was a retired LPN from St. Ann Hospital in Chicago and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Breese.

A funeral mass was held Saturday, Oct. 30th, at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with Father Church Tuttle officiating.

Burial was in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
