Jim Essenpreis, 84

Jim Essenpreis, 84, of Breese died Wednesday, Sept. 15th, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

He was born Sept. 1st, 1920, in Highland, the son of Erwin and Margaret Wolters Essenpreis, and they preceded him in death. He married Dorothy Rolfingsmeyer on Oct. 18th, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., and she survives in Breese.

He was preceded in death by a grandson; two brothers, Erwin and Arthur Essenpreis; three sisters, Betty Baxter, Juanita Peltes and Estelle “Nooks” Deien.

Surviving is a son, Dale Essenpreis of Breese; a daughter, Sandy Essenpreis of Boulder; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Sylvester “Smokey” Essenpreis of Breese; and two sisters, Mary Jane Tracy of Odin and Margie Childerson of Greenville.

He was a retired laborer and an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Laborers Local 581.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 18th, at 10 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, with Pastor W. Dale Starr officiating.

Burial was in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
