Hilda O. Root, 89, of Belleville died Friday, Aug. 13th, 2004, in Breese.

She was born Sept. 15th, 1914, in Swansea, the daughter of George and Catherine Buettner Schobert, and they preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son, Larry Root of Breese; three daughters, Ellen Cook of Kalispell, Mont., Dianne Kettler and Sharon Robinson, both of Belleville; a step-daughter, Myrna Joblin of Boise, Idaho; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren a great-great-grandson.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy W. Root; an infant son, Bobby; a step-son, Roy Root, Jr.; six brothers, Alois “Bud”, Edwin, Henry, Louis, Nick and William “Snakey” Schobert; and a sister, Irene Carson.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Aug. 18th, at 10 a.m. at Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home in Belleville, with the Rev. Trevor Murry officiating.

Burial followed in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville.
