Charles L. Boeckmann, 72
Charles L. Boeckmann, 72, of Germantown died Thursday, Sept. 9th, 2004, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle.
He was born Jan. 6th, 1932, in New Baden, the son of Bernard and Marie Fehrmann Boeckmann, and they preceded him in death. On June 2nd, 1956, at St. Dominic Church in Breese, he married Monica Hustedde, and she survives in Germantown.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald Boeckmann of Corinth, Texas, and Phil Boeckmann of Manchester, Mo.; four daughters, Karen Tebbe of Highland, Mary Acker of Waukesha, Wis., Diana Dulle of St. Rose and Yvonne Smith of Edwardsville; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers, Father Floyd Boeckmann OMI of Belleville, Vernon Boeckmann of O’Fallon and David Boeckmann of Wright City, Mo.; and two sisters, Sister Ruth Marie Boeckmann ASC of Waterloo and Florence Lakenburges of Germantown.
He was preceded in death by three sons, James, John and Mark Boeckmann.
He was a retired office manager from the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a catcher in the Canada Minor League Baseball. He was an avid sportsman, hunter and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing sports.
He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, Men’s Sodality, Eucharistic minister, lector and RCIA moderator, Germantown American Legion Post 325, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Serra Club-past president, Mater Dei Fathers and Friends and past member of the Mater Dei School Board.
A funeral mass was held Monday, Sept. 13th, at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with Fathers Floyd Boeckmann, Vincent Haselhorst and William Hitpas officiating.
Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
