Clyde Ray Alexander, 54

Clyde Ray Alexander, 54, died Tuesday, Aug. 3rd, 2004.

He was born Nov. 6th, 1949, in Litchfield, the son of the late Clyde and Juanita Killion Alexander. On Feb. 23rd, 2002, he married Lonise Turner, and she survives.

Surviving is one son; three daughters; eight grandchildren; a brother, Carroll Alexander; and three sisters, Linda Perkins, Karen Messer and Sharon Bridges.

He graduated from Carlyle High School in 1967. He then attended Southern Illinois University majoring in sociology. He joined his family in Inkster, Mich. in 1975 to begin the family business, LaFerrier Security.

In 1977 they took ownership of Irv’s Gun Shop, which later was incorporated to Alexander’s Sport Shop. For 27 years, he worked side-by-side with his brother, Carroll, building the well-known and respected establishment. In addition he served his community by joining the Inkster Downtown Development Authority.

Services were conducted Monday, Aug. 9th, at 10 a.m. at People’s Community Missionary Baptist Church in Westland, Mich., with Pastor David S. Hearn officiating.

Burial was in United Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Plymouth, Mich.

Penn Funeral Home in Inkster, Mich., was in charge of the arrangements.
