Bessie A. Parker, 97

Bessie A. Parker, 97, formerly of Carlyle, died Saturday, March 6th, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

She was born on April 2nd, 1906, in Beckemeyer, the daughter of August and Jessie Sheppard Zinschlag, and they preceded her in death. She married Daniel R. Parker in 1923, and he preceded her in death on April 8th, 1957.

Surviving are a son, William Parker of Belleville, and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Parker was retired from the Clinton County Clerk’s, Treasurer’s and Recorder of Deeds Office in the Clinton County Courthouse. She was a member of the Illinois Public Officials Association, Illinois Sheriff Association and Royal Neighbors of America. She was a past deputy sheriff of Clinton County and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 11th, at 11 a.m. at Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Rev. John Riggs officiating.

Interment will be in Carlyle cemetery.

Visitation will be today, Wednesday, March 10th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, March 11th, from 8 a.m. until time of service at Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle.
