Kenneth Earl Nunn, Sr., 79

Kenneth Earl Nunn, Sr., 79, died Saturday, May 29th, 2004, in Denton, Texas.

Surviving are his wife, June Nunn; three sons, Kenneth E., Jr., Daniel A. and Randall A. Nunn, all residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area; a daughter, Linda I. Wallace; two sisters, Jean Cunningham and Juanita Jacek, both of Minonk; and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Van and Birdie Nunn; a daughter, Janet A. Nunn, and a sister, Oleda Hock.

He was a graduate of Minonk community High School in 1943 and joined the Navy serving in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in February 1946, as a radio operator, second class, and received the Victory Medal World War II for service to his country.

He retired from the Illinois Central Golf Railroad in 1984 after 40 years of service. For most of that time, he was a director of industry service for freight operations at numerous locations. He was a loved and respected employee with that company.

His outside interests included fishing and gardening. Ken and his wife, June, traveled extensively after his retirement, ultimately visiting all 50 states of the USA.

At his request there will be no funeral service, but a celebration of his life was held on Saturday, June 12th, in the Dallas/Forth Worth area.
