Mother of Frank Warnecke of This City Passes Away

Mrs. Caroline Kuenecke, widow of the late William Kuenecke, passed away at 7:40 o'clock Friday evening at her home west of Beckemeyer in Wade Township. She had reached the age of 62 years, 3 months and 26 days. The deceased was born in Germany March 4, 1871, a daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. George Klemke. She resided in that country until about 16 years ago when she came to the United States with her brother and two sisters. They stayed for a time in New York, later coming to Illinois and settling in Aviston. While residing there in 1890 she became the wife of Christ Warnecke. Four children of this union survive. In 1898 Mr. Warnecke passed away. Mrs. Warnecke and children resided in Breese for a time and in 1901 she was again married, this time to William Kuenecke of Breese. They later moved to a farm near Beckemeyer where in August, 1930, Mr. Kuenecke passed away. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kuenecke, four of whom are living. The deceased was a lady who lived for her church and family. Always faithful in her attendance at church she likewise was faithful in caring for her children who are deeply grieved at her untimely passing away. She has lived a useful and well spent life leaving many friends who are sorrowful because of her passing from this ear. She was a member of the St. Anthony's church, Beckemeyer, and of the Married Ladies' Sodality. The surviving children are Frank Warnecke of Carlyle; George and John Warnecke at home; Mrs. Mary Problys of Nashville; Mrs. Rose Hilmes of Beckemeyer; Mrs. Annabel Winkler of Trenton; Mrs. Margaret Heyer of Breese and Bernard Kuenecke at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Ben Welling of Aviston and Mrs. John Von Bokel of Breese, also survive. A brother preceded her in death as did a daughter, Caroline Kuenecke, who passed away in infancy. Funeral services were conducted at nine o'clock Monday morning at St. Anthony's church, Beckemeyer, Services were in charge of Rev. Father B. Hilgenberg, Pastor of the church. Interment was in the St. Anthony's Cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Heyer and sons, Duane and Edmund, Mr. and Mrs. John Von Bokel, Mrs. Grover Wimberly, John Heyer, William Kuenecke and family and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krake and family all of Breese; Mr. and Mrs. John Problys and family of Nashville; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Winkler and son Billy, of Trenton; Miss Lee Kuenecke and Mrs. Miller of St. Louis; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Welling and sons of Aviston; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Warnecke and family of Carlyle; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hilmes and Mrs. Ida Wessling and children of Beckemeyer. The Union Banner joins the friends of the deceased in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
