Mrs. Mary Ann Wolters of Aviston Dies Monday

Mrs. Mary Ann Wolters, 75, lifelong resident of Aviston, died at 11 pm Monday at St. Joseph Hospital here, following a three month illness. Deceased was born March 10, 1892, at Aviston, the daughter of Clemens and Catherine (Brinker) Kuhl. She received her education at St. Francis School was married there on April 16, 1912 to Frank H. Wolters. He preceded her in death on Sept.. 9, 1965. Survivors include her ten children: Clemens, Leo B., Frank T., and Mrs. Joseph Ripperda/s (?), all of Aviston, Mrs. John Niemann and Mrs. Vincent Niemann of Breese, Anthony and Mrs. Edward Johnson of New Baden, Mrs. Anton Budde of Albers, and Mrs. Alfred Thole of Carlyle. Fifty-one grandchildren also survive. Five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of the Altar Sodality of St. Francis Parish, and the Catholic Knights and Ladies of Illinois. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 pm from the Brefeld Funeral Home to St. Francis Church, with the pastor, Father Herbert Kopff, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The following grandsons will be pallbearers: Anthony and Eugene Budde, Virgil and John Niemann, Jr., and Theodore and Thomas Wolters.
