Ben Kuhl Dies After Long Illness

Ben Kuhl, a well known resident of the west part of the county, died at the home of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William G. Richter, who reside near Breese, Dec. 3, after an illness of eighteen months. Mr. Kuhl was born Dec. 4, 189 (sic), near Aviston, being almost 35 years old when claimed by death. Nov. 24, 1914, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Richter, the ceremony being performed in St. Augustine's Church in Breese. Four children were born to this union. An infant daughter, Anna, preceded her father in death. The other three children are Marcella, aged 6; Dorothy, aged 4; and Robert, 18 months old; the wife and his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Kuhl; four brothers: Joseph of Beckemeyer; William of Kingmann, Kansas; Henry of Aviston; and Herman of Albers. Also three sisters: Mrs Ben Thole, Mrs. Herman Wolters and Mrs. Frank Wolters, all of Aviston, are left to mourn his death, besides a large number of other relatives and friends. One sister, Mrs. George Thole, preceded him in death, Aug. 12, 1913. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhl resided on a farm near Breese for a number of years. They sold their property several weeks ago and since then made their home with his wife's parents. Mr. Kuhl was held in the highest respect and esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services were conducted from St. Augustine's Church in Breese. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to this bereaved family.
