Joseph H. Kuhl of Aviston Dies in Hospital In Breese
John H. Kuhl, aged 80 years, of Aviston, IL, who has forty-two living descendents, died at 10:30 am Friday, in St. Joseph's hospital in Breese, as the result of a stroke of paralysis. The body lay in state at the Frerker Funeral Home, Carlyle, until time for the funeral services at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning in St. Anthony's Church Beckemeyer, conducted by Rev. Julius Schoen, the pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Kuhl, son of the late Clemens and Ann Buss Kuhl, both natives of Germany, was born April 13, 1869 in Aviston. He grew into young manhood in that community, and followed the vocation of cabinet maker and carpenter. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Peters, in Aviston. They later became residents of Beckemeyer where Mr. Kuhl operated a furniture and undertaking business for many years, retiring 30 years ago, and made his home in Aviston. His wife died in 1930. There were ten children in the family, eight living, namely: Mrs. John Georgy, Trenton; J.C., Herman and William Kuhl, Beckemyer; Joseph Kuhl, Carlyle; Mrs. Frank Isaak, Bartelso; Mrs. Elizabeth Peters, Beckemeyer; Mrs. Henry Isaak, Jr., Carlyle; twenty-eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren; also two brothers, Henry Kuhl, Aviston; Herman Kuhl, Albers; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Thole, Mrs. Herman Wolters, Mrs. Frank Wolters, Aviston.
