Mrs. Hy. Kuhl Dies After Short Illness

Mrs. Louise Kuhl, wife of Henry Kuhl, of Aviston, died in St. Joseph Hospital here at five o'clock Sunday afternoon. Her health has been quite poorly the past month, and when she developed pneumonia last Thursday she was removed to the hospital. She had also been suffering with Leukemia. Mrs. Kuhl was born in Breese July 14, 1876, daughter of Albert and Mary Strake. She was married in St. Dominic Church here to Henry Kuhl and the first ten years of their married life was spent here, after which they moved to Aviston, where Mr. Kuhl operated a meat market. To them 15 children were born, five having died in infancy, four of these deaths being sets of twins. The living, in the order of their ages are: Mrs. Henry Alberternst of Linden Grove, Frank Kuhl of Breese, George Kuhl of St. Louis, Anton Kuhl of Aviston, Mrs. Frank Renschen of Aviston, Edward Kuhl of Mascoutah, Mrs. Arthur Wuest and Otto Kuhl of Trenton, Mrs. Paul Molitor of Aviston and Rev. Urban Kuhl, assistant at the Cathedral in Belleville, IL. She also leaves her husband, age 75, two sisters Ms. Henry Robben and Mrs. George Hentschel of Breese, three brothers, Ben and Anton Strake of this city and Frank Strake of St. Louis, 31 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kuhl was a member of St. Francis Church at Aviston and of the Married Ladies Sodality. The body lay in state at the Kuhl residence and burial services will be held Thursday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Church. A solemn requiem mass will be conducted, the son, Rev. Kuhl officiating, assisted by Rev. Fred Renschen as deacon and Rev. Gregory Holtgrave as sub deacon. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery
