The death of Mrs. Strake occurred at the St. Joseph hospital here Tuesday, June 23, at the age of 80 years. For the last several years she had been in failing health. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Henchel. Her husband and several children preceded her in death. She was the mother of seven living children: Frank of St. Louis, George of New Baden, and Ben and Anton of here, Mrs. Hy. Kuhl of Aviston, Mrs. Ferd Niemeyer and Mrs. George Henchel of here. Mrs. Strake was of a kind and loving disposition and had a kind word for everyone. She made her home in this vicinity since her marriage to Albert Strake and was one of the oldest ladies in this vicinity. She was much loved by her many friends. She belonged to the St. Dominic Church and belonged to the Ladies' Sodality. The funeral took place Friday Morning at 8 o'clock at the St. Dominic Church. The pallbearers were six nephew of the deceased - Raymond Strake, Frank Strake, Chas., Niemeyer, Albert Strake, R.B. Strake, and H. Kuhl. The funeral was largely attended by friends in and out of the city. Interment was in the St. Dominic Cemetery. May her soul rest in peace. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives.
