Mrs John GRAYLING of Carlyle Dies ; Services Sunday

Mrs. John (Martha Ida) Grayling 63,of Carlyle died suddenly of a heart attack at her home Thursday morning

She was born in Lake Township to Louis and Ellen (STEIN) BACKS. She married Mr. Grayling on July 14, 1914. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and participated in the Ladies Aid of the church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Grayling is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frieda WINKLER of Centralia, Mrs. Lucille JASPER of Beckemeyer and Mrs. Shirley POMMER of Carlyle; six sons, Elbert of Centralia, Oscar of Carlyle, Lorrain of Aroma Park, Harold of Hoffman, Truman of Carlyle, and Clifford of Posey; 23 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; a brother, John Backs, of Sandoval and a sister Mrs. Joseph PORZUKOWIAK of Beckemeyer.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. from the Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle. The Rev. Robert KAHRE will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home in Carlyle after 7 p.m. Friday.
