Funeral services for Aviston resident Otto R. Schulte will be held at St. Francis Church in Aviston at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18th. Rev. Dan Friedman will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Schulte died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, 2002. He was 87 years old.

A son of Frank and Mary KUES Schulte, he was born in Aviston on May 25th, 1914. On Aug. 30th, 1939, in Breese, he married Marie A. HAAR, and she survives.

Besides his widow, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Mary RAKERS of Aviston and Mrs. Rita JACKSON of Lovington; three sons, Richard Schulte of Carlyle, Ray Schulte of Breese and Roland Schulte of Fenton, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; on sister, Hilda Schulte of Carlyle Healthcare Center and one brother, Edward "Butch" Schulte of Trenton.

He was preceded in death, in infancy, by two sons, Robert and Roger Schulte. Four brothers also preceded him in death, Henry, George, William and Alphonse Schulte.

Mr. Schulte was a retired cabinet maker for Markus Cabinet in Aviston, where he worked for 24 years. He was a member of Carpenters Local 580 in Freeburg. He had also worked for 21 years at Hubert Slipper Company in Aviston.

Visitation is at the Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston after 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17th, and from 8 until 10:30 a.m. Friday.
