SCHULTE, Edward J

Edward J. "Butch" Schulte, 91, of Trenton, Ill., died Thursday June 19, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, Breese, Ill.

Mr. Schulte was a retired salesman from Sears Roebuck and Co. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Trenton, Ill., Trenton Sportsmen Club and the Clinton County Democrats.

Mr. Schulte was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary B., nee DALL, Schulte, whom he married May 25, 1937, at St. Francis Church, Aviston, Ill., and who died Feb. 11, 1952.; his second wife, Dorothy, nee BEAN, Schulte, whom he married Feb. 28, 1953, and who died May 11, 2003; a son, David Schulte; a grandson, Zane Schulte; his parents, Frank and Mary, nee KUES, Shulte; five brothers, George, Henry, Otto, Apphonse (Alphonse) and William Schulte; and a sister Hilda Schulte.

Surviving are three sons, Edward "Sonny" (Carolyn) Schulte of San Jose, Calif., Herbert (Germaine) Schulte of Trenton, Ill., and Thomas (Barbara) Schulte of Brenhamm, Texas; two daughters, Mary Jane WEILMUENSTER of Riverdale Md., and Phyllis (Tom) HEIDERSCHEIT of Raleigh Durham, N. C.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay for Life and will be received through the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003, and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at Moss Funeral Home, Trenton, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Trenton, Ill., with the Rev. James Dougherty officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Aviston, Ill.
