Catherine KUES, 80, dies Tuesday. (Jan 12,1971 hand written on newspaper article)

Mrs. Catherine Ann Kues, a resident of 117 North Second Street for the past 22 years, died at the age of 80 years. She had been hospitalized here for the past seven weeks for a heart condition. She was the widow of Henry Kues, who died Jan. 28, 1963.

Her birth was in Breese Township on Aug. 13, 1890. She was the daughter of Bernard and Anna (SCHNITKER) RATERMANN and attended St. Dominic Grade School. She was married at St. Dominic's on May 9, 1911, and was the mother of seven children.

They are Mrs. Robert (Ann) BURHORN, Raymond Kues, and Mrs. Al (Henrietta) ISAAK of St. Louis; Mrs. Clem (Rosemary) Isaak of Carlyle; Orville of Florissant; Mrs. John (Florence) DUNCAN of Highland; and Mrs. Robert "Benny" (Alice) FIELDS of Breese.

She leaves 31 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Martha LAMPE of Belleville.

Friends may call at the Moss Funeral Home Wednesday evening. Father H. H. Aydt will conduct the Rite of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Dominic's Church and Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Robert Burhorn, Russell and Gary Isaak, John and Donald Kues, and Mark Fields.

The ladies of St. Dominic Altar Sodality will pray the rosary at 7p.m. Thursday at the church.
