Funeral of Mrs Fred MEYER (MEIER)

Mrs.Fred Meyer (Meier) quietly passed away at her home a mile and one half north of Huey, Sunday morning at 6:50 o'clock after an illness of a lengthy duration. Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's church in Carlyle Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock and interment was in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Meyer( Meier) was quite young to be called away from her home and loved ones, as she had only reached the age of 42 years, 6 months and 2 days. For a number of years she had been in poor health. and suffered a great deal. Three months ago her condition became much worse and for the past three weeks she had been bedfast. Death finally came as a relief after these years of suffering

The deceased was before her marriage Fannie ALLEN .She was the daughter of the late William Allen and Ida Allen, being born in Carlyle March 4,1889 . Her father was for many years assessor for Carlyle Township and was for a time in the Singer Sewing Machine business in Carlyle. After attending the Carlyle Public schools, the deceased assisted her father in his work.

In the fall of 1909 she was united in marriage with Fred Allen (Meier) in the St. Mary's Church of which she was member at the time of her death. They lived in Carlyle after their marriage until about two years ago, when they moved to the farm on which she died, north of Huey.

The death of Mrs. Meyer (Meier) seems so untimely especially since she is survived by four daughters, who need a mother's loving care. They with their father and other relatives did all in their power to make the last moments of the one they loved as pleasant as possible.

The four daughters, Adelpha, Ledora, Bernadine, and Nora; the deceased mother, Mrs. Ida Allen of Beckemeyer, a sister Mrs. Myrtle FREY of Beckemeyer; a brother, Tom Allen of Irishtown Township, and the husband are left to mourn her passing.

The many friends sympathize with them in their hour of sorrow.
