Obituary

Mrs. Ora Alice Taylor ,daughter of William and Emily STEIN nee HOLLEY ,was born near Hoyelton in Washington County November 24,1884, and died Sunday evening May 11 at 5:50 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Roy Crocker at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 17 days. She had been ill for 19 months. She grew to young womanhood and attended the school near her home there. After her marriage to Zenas Taylor in Nashville July 6, 1904 the couple moved to Oakville and later to Belleville. They came to Carlyle in 1908 and lived here continuously since that time. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church here and of the Ladies Aid and the Royal Neighbor Lodge. Several years ago Mr. Taylor's health failed and they came to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Crocker. Last September 12 Mr. Taylor passed away. Mrs. Taylor steadily became worse until her death Sunday.

Left to survive her loss are Gladys, wife of Roy Crocker of Carlyle, two grandchildren, Beryl and Ned Crocker of Carlyle, two sisters, Mrs. Ellen BACKS of Carlyle; and Mrs. Emma BARTH of Little Rock Ark.; one brother, August Stein of Centralia; besides a host of nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors who mourn her loss.

Tennyson's beautiful poem "Crossing the bar" imparts Mrs. Taylor's final wish: "Sunset and evening star and one clear call for me, And may there be no moaning of the Bar, when I put out to sea."

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved at the death of Mrs. Zenas Taylor.
