James Russell died Armistice Day
James Russell, well known resident of Carlyle, passed away at his home Tuesday evening of a heart ailment. He had been ill for about 2 years.
Mr. Russell was born January 22, 1872. He was united in marriage with Anna REYNOLDS who preceeded him in death and on September 23,1929, he was again married to Christine FROST, who survives. Also surviving are one child, John Russell, and six stepchildren: Darrel, Virgil, and Earl Reynolds, Mrs. J. W. LESMEISTER and Ben BURKHARDT of Decatur and Julius BURKHARDT of Carlyle. Also left to mourn his loss are ten grandchildren and one great grand-child; one brother Tom Russell and two sisters, Mrs. Clark WHITE and Miss Hattie Russell of East St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held to day, Friday morning at nine o'clock from St. Mary's Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. B.W. Hilgenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
