Mrs. Mamie G. MEIER 83

The funeral of Mrs. Mamie G. Meier of Carlyle, was held at 1:00 P.M. Monday Sept. 28 in the First Baptist Church of Carlyle with Dr. Charles Nance officiating. Internment was in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Meier, 83, died suddenly Saturday Sept 26 at Carlyle Healthcare Center. She was a native of Irishtown Township. She was born March 7, 1899 to Lawrence and Margaret (LINKS) CRANDALL. She was first married in Carlyle in 1922 to Clifford COOK.

In 1931 she was married at Salem to Fred MEIER, who died Jan 18,1967.

Surviving are a son, Carl COOK, of Carlyle; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary) BERGER of Palm Beach, Florida; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Edward (Adelpha) SPEISER and Mrs. L. A (Lee Dora) TAYLOR both of Carlyle and Mrs. Arnold (Bernadine) HUEGEN of Albers, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister Mrs Arla BRADLEY of Modesta Calif.

Mrs. Meier was preceded in death by one son, James COOK, who was killed in Iwo Jima during World War Two.

She was member of the Carlyle American Legion Aux., Gold Star Mothers, Royal Neighbors of America, and the first Baptist Church.
